St. Augustine & First Coast vacation rentals, straight from the owner

St. Augustine was founded by the Spanish in 1565, and the old city still sits on the bayfront behind the walls of the Castillo de San Marcos. Cross the Bridge of Lions and you are on Anastasia Island, with the lighthouse, the state park and miles of beach along A1A. North of town the coast runs up to Ponte Vedra Beach; south, it runs down to Palm Coast and Flagler Beach.

Every property on this page holds an active Florida vacation rental license. We list the facts from the state record and the area around it. Owners who claim their listing add their own photos, rates and a direct booking link, so you deal with the person who owns the place, not a platform taking a cut of every night you stay.

St. Augustine vacation rental questions

Are these rentals licensed?

Yes. Florida requires a vacation rental license from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for any home or condo rented more than three times a year for stays shorter than 30 days. Every listing here starts from an active license in that state record, and the license number appears on the listing.

Why book direct instead of through Airbnb or VRBO?

Airbnb now charges most hosts a host-only fee of about 15.5% on every booking, and that fee is built into the nightly price you see. Book with the owner and that cut is out of the deal. You also get the person who knows the place, so questions about parking downtown, beach walkovers or bringing the dog get a real answer.

How do I book a place that has no booking button yet?

Send an availability request from the listing. We pass it to the owner using the contact on their state license, and they reply to you directly. Listings with a "Book direct" button link straight to the owner's own booking page.

Should I stay in town or at the beach?

Stay in or near the historic district if you want to walk to St. George Street, the Castillo and dinner without moving the car. Stay on Anastasia Island if the beach comes first; downtown is a short drive back over the Bridge of Lions. Ponte Vedra and Flagler Beach are quieter bases about 35 to 45 minutes from the old city.
