About

A directory, not a middleman

Book The Stay Direct is a national directory of licensed vacation rentals that you book with the owner. We open one region at a time, starting with the places travelers search most, and every neighborhood guide is written for that place.

Where listings come from

Each region starts from the public vacation rental license record for that state or county. In Florida that is the Department of Business and Professional Regulation's lodging license data, which covers every licensed vacation rental in the state. We show only facts from that record: the kind of property, the town, the ZIP code and the license number. We do not copy photos or descriptions from other booking sites. Owners add their own when they claim a listing.

How we make money

Owners pay a flat monthly fee for upgraded listings. Guests pay us nothing, and we never take a percentage of a booking, handle payments or hold calendars. That is the whole point.

Who we are

Book The Stay Direct is built and run by Benchmark Web Development, a web design and local search company headquartered in Ocala, Florida.
